The NKCHS has established a "Wish List" of goals to meet our preservation mission.  At the top of this list were Replacement of the Carpenter House Roof and its Front Steps.  Our fund-raising efforts have resulted in enough monies to complete these two goals by the end of July 2010!  We wish to thank the following organizations who have provided grants to support these efforts:

Puget Sound Energy Foundation - $5,000

BNSF Railway Foundation - $5,000

Washington Trust for Historic Preservation - $1,500

Kittitas County Historic Records Fund - $5,000

City of Cle Elum Historic Preservation Commission - $500

And a special Thank You to the generous individuals who donated to support our mission!

This beautiful Christmas Tree was donated by Don and Lori Watts for a fundraiser to benefit the Carpenter House restoration efforts.  The tree is on display in the Museum throughout 2010.  Tickets are on sale for a donation of $5.00 each at the Carpenter House from now until the first weekend in December, at which time the tree will be awarded to the winning ticket owner.  The tree, including all its beautiful decorations and gift boxes, is valued at $800.00.
